Prompt: Make a list of 40 things that have happened to you this month. Then pick one from your list and write about it.

List: Since November quite literally just started, this will be difficult. I may get 10 things in. Maybe. Let's see.

  2. I applied for a different job (Subway in a petrol station) - desperate
  3. I got a yoga mat. - hopeful
  4. I brought back all my DVDs from my mother's place. - happy
  5. I saw my children (cats) again. - content
  6. I planned a fun winter holiday with my sister. - excited
  7. I will have two exams back to back. - nervous
  8. My best friend bought me the most amazing cupcake I've ever had. - ecstatic
  9. I was able to register for classes. - happy
  10. I was not able to over-ride a graduation requirement. - infuriating
 I think I'll choose #8.

Okay, last Friday, I went to a special meeting at night in the chapel at night. I was about to skip out since I was exhausted and didn't want to think about my life and my decisions. My best friend ended up texting me about an hour before the meeting making sure I was actually going to show up, and I didn't reply until about a half hour later. It was actually a great meeting, and I met a few new people which is always exciting. After, he came up to me and asked if I wanted to take a ride with him. I hadn't talked with him alone in awhile, so I agreed happily. He ended up taking me to this delicatessen called Datz. From the outside, it looked shabby, but as soon as we got inside, it was a whole different story. It was like I walked into this Parisian bakery shop I visited back in March.

We walked to the sweet section, and I was in heaven. There were so many different kinds, and I knew none of them except the famous red velvet cake (that he had bought me before). I didn't expect anything. I thought he came here to get something for himself or maybe his new lady, but he offered, and I was so excited.

Okay, this cupcake - it was a blend of peanut butter with chocolate. Let that sink in a little bit. (My mouth is watering just remembering it.) It was a chocolate cake, peanut butter frosting on top, and small, cut peanut butter cups decorating the top. The smell alone was intoxicating.

Oh, man. To have that again. I don't think I'd even trust myself to walk back in that place.

Ever eat something that just made your year? Yeah, this was that for me.
