Writing prompt #11, part 1: Small triumphs

There are 3 different sets of words, so I will make (maybe) 3 separate posts. This is just being used to wake my brain up at the moment. Ha!

Set 1: paperclips, principal, lunchbox, swing set, girl with a pink ribbon

The quiet girl with a pink ribbon sat alone on the swing set. All the other children on the playground were huddled next to Mary Sue, the most popular girl in the whole school. Apparently, Mary Sue had gotten a hold of one of her dad's cigars and brought it to school to show off. The quiet girl, Melinda, wasn't invited - she was too quiet for everyone's liking, and they didn't understand her. She slid off the swing and meandered to the picnic table in the far corner of the playground, where her lunchbox was, only to find someone had stolen it and left a note: "Sory loozer". She laughed at their general imbecility but was disappointed that her grapes and crackers were gone. This wasn't the first time, however. She had gone to the principal's office about it before, but she didn't know the thief, so there was nothing to be done. Melinda, being a bright girl, had begun to use paperclips to attach bags of food to the inner lining of her jacket. She pulled out a large peanut butter sandwich and beamed as she ate. Victory at last, she thought.
